Dr. Gil Foley, NYCCD’s Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Co-Director of TTAC, is the co-author of The Cognitive Observation Guide, The Supportive Play Model, Mental Health in Early Intervention and a second edition of Sensory Integration and Regulation in Young Children by National Zero to Three. His newly released book continues the exploration of these areas: Linking Sensory Integration and Mental Health: Nurturing Self-Regulation in Infants and Young Children.
NYCCD's sister company, the New York Center for Infants & Toddlers (NYCIT), is an Early Intervention program that serves children ages birth to 3 who have special needs. It has had a long standing partnership with a research team at UCLA.
Together, UCLA and NYCIT are examining the effectiveness of adding a targeted play based intervention focused on social communication and joint attention to an existing ABA Curriculum.
